Pangea is an amazing band from Southern California that features members of God Equals Genocide (another great band). Although their first album, from which this song is taken, is more on the folk-punky side, Pangea immediately stands out from the crowded septic tank of rat-tails and bike tubing that litters college campuses, proving once again to my otherwise bigoted ears that hidden in every tangential niche of hipster friendly drivel are moments of sheer brilliance. (Actually, I quite enjoy folk-punk, but there is a lot of brainless cutesy wimp crap to wade through) Warning! Once you listen to this song, it will embed itself in dark corners of your mind from whence it may never be pried.
If you like what you hear, you may be happy to know that Pangea is still recording and has, like a beautiful butterfly, shed its folk-punk cocoon in favor of a more radiant pop wingspan.
